New Wax vs Old Wax

two frames, one new wax one old comb

The frame on the left is new comb, on the right is old comb.
The old comb is black and has been used for brood rearing. The darker brown areas on the new comb have also been used for brood, just not as much.
Both frames are good for brood or honey production. Many of us like to cycle out the older black comb to prevent any environmental build up of pesticides, herbicides or fungicides.
Not only is this good for the bees but good for us too!
Our honey harvest and  the bees rely on this wax for storage and brood rearing. Anything that can compromise the natural state of cleanliness should be removed.
Clean honey and healthy happy bees!
